Incontri. Rivista europea di studi italiani
Incontri. Rivista europea di studi italiani is an international journal dedicated to the study of Italian culture from its origins to the present day. Founded in 1985, it publishes original research subject to double-blind peer review across a broad range of disciplines, including history, literature, linguistics, philosophy, art history, music, cinema and theatre. Particular emphasis is placed on interdisciplinary, comparative and transnational perspectives, with the aim of fostering critical reflection on the relationships between Italian culture and the wider European and global contexts.
Incontri is the journal of the Werkgroep Italië Studies (WIS), a working group bringing together scholars from different disciplines engaged in Italian Studies within the Dutch and Flemish academic communities. The journal is hosted on Openjournals.nl, a Dutch national infrastructure for open-access scholarly publishing, managed by the KNAW Humanities Cluster and supported by a consortium of academic institutions in the Netherlands. Its editorial policy follows the Diamond Open Access model, with no Article Processing Charges (APCs) for authors.
Indexed in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), Incontri assigns persistent digital identifiers (DOIs) to its articles, registered through Crossref, an international organisation that facilitates the discoverability, citation and interconnection of scholarly publications through the registration and sharing of their metadata.
Incontri is recognised by ANVUR as a “Scientific Journal” for Area 10 (Ancient, Philological-Literary and Historical-Artistic Sciences).
